Here is a collection of the some of the images I took the day the clouds were passing by and with the sunrays shooting out from behind them.

Catch up time.... I have been working on photos and will continue to work on older images I have taken and working on sprucing them up with the knowledge I have gained in my Photoshop class this last semester. I just need to work on keeping up to date with them on the blog.

Swans, I wish I could get more pictures of them, so graceful, beautiful. I wanted to show a before and after, with only slight touch ups, sometimes that is all it takes to make an image stand out more.

This image was taken at the Northwest Annex on base, we were trying to find some place with a horizon and no buildings in the way so that I could work on taking pictures of sunsets. Not bad, but I think it still needs some work.

The final project this year in my color photography class was to produce 8-10 images that represent us in our goals in photography. More and more I am finding I enjoy doing close ups and macro photography. These images being represented by nature are of 7 of the visible hues from shortest to longest wavelengths in the light spectrum.

Clouds and Sunrays. Last year, I happened to be outside just at the right time to see these huge clouds passing by. The sun’s rays were shooting out from behind and just looked so beautiful that I ran in grabbed my camera and dashed out to the upstairs deck and just started shooting pictures. I ended up with a ton of beautiful clouds with sunrays peeking out from behind. I think I will make a series out of them and show them all later this week.

I thought this image was nice when I first took this photo 2 years ago but with the help of Photoshop I think I really made this photo really stand out more. Bringing out the blue and saturating the color to stand out more.

A lot of the times I like to take one photo and see how many different unique looks that I can give an image.

I think for the next few days I am going to work on the clouds with the sunrays images I had mentioned earlier this week and post my favorites. It will be a lot.

Day 2: Sometimes my favorite part of photography is being able to create Photoshop magic on them. I will spend more time in Photoshop playing with pictures then I did trying to capture a good picture of it. This a picture of a daffodil gazing at its reflection for the first time in a mirror and depending on how you want to see it, it is seeing its reflection in black and white, or the daffodil is black and white seeing itself in color.

My photo of the day is a photo of a deer I took a couple of years ago that I thought looked nice then, little did I know what was wrong until starting school this semester. So here is the before and after where you can see a huge difference and a big improvement of this image, better saturation of color and a slight darkening in different parts of the image so that it stands out better than before.

My daughter in her ballet class this week, I love parent watch week at the studio.  I just love her gracefulness and form, and I thought these really stood out in black and white.






School is starting to wind down, just three more weeks and I will be done for the semester. YIPPEE!!  So hopefully that means more time to blog and show off new pictures, I will be posting pictures that were used in my school assignments as I believe they show a great improvement and look really nice.

Yes, I have been a bit behind on the blogging, but I am working on getting myself going again... It has been a busy year, with school, buying a new home and moving.... Tomorrow starts a new semester in school and that means more pictures to blog about. I can't wait. I do intend to keep up with blogging, it may not be daily... but it will be at least a few times a week. I have started a facebook page which I will be running specials each month and possibly games to win free stuff on my site. So like me on facebook and stay tuned!

Yesterday while driving around with my husband, we came upon a park that I think my kids will enjoy and in the middle of the parking lot held these yellow flowers with a bumble bee busy at work on them.



Sometimes my favorite part of taking pictures is manipulating the pictures and giving them different effects.
